Water Tower. Shot with circa 1972 Yashica Electro 35 GSN on auto-exposure setting. I timed it so a semi truck would pass though the frame, leaving the streaks of light. Exposure is about 30 seconds, aperture of 5.6.The Yashica Electro 35 GSN is a very cool old rangefinder film camera. It has a fantastic f 1.2 lens, and an old style selenium meter, which is uncannily accurate, especially in low light. They are tons of fun to play with. Pick one up if you see it.
Nice long exposure shot with the Electra 35! I love mine and need to do some long exposure work with it. I was amazed at how clean this little rangefinder is. Here is a shot I took with mine:
Question, I have a battery for mine, but does the bulb feature only work with the battery in?

Nice shot! Those cameras have great lenses, and an amazing auto-exposure system, even though it’s just an old selenium cell, not even through the lens.
Without the battery, the camera only shoots at a single, default shutter speed. I don’t know what this is off-hand. I just removed the battery from mine to test the bulb setting, and it did not work.
Just FYI - I don’t use the bulb setting, I just use the auto exposure setting. I think the limit is 30 seconds. My night shots were all taken on auto, and the shutter speeds are usually at least 15 seconds.
I hope that helps.
